Wexham Park Hospital Garden

The Wexham Park Hospital has transformed the small garden outside the Stroke Unit into a tranquil rehabilitation area where patients can relax on a bench donated by TDP.

Terry Creedon worked on the Acute Stroke Unit at Wexham Park Hospital as an Occupational Therapist Technician for 12 years before his premature death. He had a vision to transform the small garden outside the Stroke Unit into a tranquil rehabilitation area where patients can relax in a therapeutic space and take part in horticultural activities to aid their recovery. Terry drew up a plan but sadly passed away before he could see his dream come true.

The garden was transformed over a couple of weeks by teams from the O2 UK ‘Think Big’ initiative. To help the project reach its goal TDP donated a ‘Peak’ bench for people to relax on.

The garden has been turned from a rarely used space into a beautiful therapeutic garden which staff will be able to use in many different ways with their stroke patients. It also provides a quiet place that patients can enjoy either alone, or with relatives and visitors
