Driveway Edging with Recycled Profiles

Domestic driveway uses TDP recycled plastic waste profiles to effectively edge to centre

TDP Recycled Plastic Profiles

Driveway Edging

The 30m run down the centre of this domestic drive had become overgrown with weeds and the wooden edging had become rotten. This resulted in some of the block paving sinking as the edging was no longer holding the pavers in place.

The 2ft wide channel was cleared of the gravel and the old wooden edging taken up. Plantex weed control fabric was laid in the base of the channel, then 3 metre lengths of 25mm x 100mm recycled profile were laid along each side. At 1.5m intervals a 50mm x 50mm support baton, again made from recycled plastic, was laid crossways to keep the edging profiles in place.

Profiles used

  • brown-rectangular-profile25mm x 100mm x 3000mm
  • black-square-profile50mm x 50mm x 3100mm

The base of the channel was filled with a layer of sand to help drainage and then top soil. Turf was laid on top to complete the project.

The recycled profiles used are designed to meet the most demanding of outdoor applications and were ideally suited to this renovation. Also, TDP’s recycled plastic profiles will last a lifetime, unlike the original timber.
