It was announced on 21 April 2023 that TDP has been honoured with the King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development. This distinguished award recognises our commitment to combat climate change and putting people and the environment at the heart of our business strategy.
TDP is one of 148 organisations nationally to be recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise. The annual programme, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, reflects His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the late Queen’s legacy by recognising outstanding UK businesses. Now in its 57th year, it represents the most prestigious business award in the country.
We are pioneers in sustainable production and our commitment to using recycled plastic helps reduce emissions, minimise waste and tackle environmental degradation. By diverting plastic from landfill, we help reduce CO2 levels and keep pollutants out of our rivers and oceans. We also challenge the take-make-discard model by supporting the circular economy in keeping resources in the value chain.
The King’s Award Office said: “TDP has been awarded for a comprehensive and well-executed plan of sustainable initiatives with positive impacts, and for demonstrating inspirational leadership spreading the word about sustainability amongst its peers and through the local business community.”

The King’s Award will help shine a light on how businesses like ours can use sustainability to future proof their operations. Our leadership team is regularly asked to share best practice with other manufacturers and our work is now recognised on a regional and national level.
TDP won the Sustainable/Ethical Manufacturer Award at the 2022 Made in the Midlands Awards. We have received other accolades, including being runner up in the Make UK Manufacturing Awards.
