The Dale Commemorative Bench is hand-built to a classic design that combines timeless appeal with practical functionality. Providing a fitting tribute to a loved one or a thoughtful way to commemorate an event, a plaque or engraving can be added to the bench slats with a personalised message or dedication.

    Our plaques come in many different sizes, shapes and colours, perfect to commemorate, remember or celebrate any occasion. Start by picking the style of your plaque.

    What message would you like on your plaque? You can have up to 5 lines of text, but depending on the size of your plaque, more text will mean smaller writing. We will send you a proof of how your plaque look and will work with you to make sure it's just right before manufacturing it.

    When entering your message, you can use letters, numbers or punctuation - but please do NOT add emoji's/symbols as these can't be added to your plaque.

    You can also add an image to your Plaque (although bear in mind this will reduce the amount or size of your text message) - if you don't have an image in mind, have a look at some examples of images you could choose from our library. Or you can upload your own image as a line drawing, or even just a sketch or photo, we'll convert it into a line drawing that can be engraved onto your plaque.

    You can also add a cutout photo to your Plaque (although bear in mind this will reduce the amount or size of your text message).

    Add a cutout photo to your plaque - with this process, we'll take your image/shape and cut it out to make a smaller plaque, which is great for logos. Images must be uploaded in a Jpeg format and be no larger than 10MB Here's an example of how a cutout would look after engraving;

    What's next?

Remember, we will always send a proof (a sample image of what your plaque will look like) for your approval before production, so you'll be able to confirm your choices again.

  • If you're thinking of adding a plaque to your furniture, you can also join our new My Place and Story service. This service adds a QR code alongside your plaque or engraving.  When this code is scanned by a smartphone, it'll take the visitor to a web page that gives more background and history to the person or place the bench is remembering. It's a great way to expand and say more than you can on a plaque, and really tell somebody the full story. Want to know more about how this service works?

    Hello TDP,

    The memorial bench in memory of my late Wife Susan, who passed away in March last year, arrived safely at St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School, Ashton in Makerfield, Wigan, just after 4pm today. The School has a team of Eco Warriors, led by one of the teachers, and that is one of the reasons why I decided to buy a memorial bench made from recycled plastic. The bench is going to be placed in a newly formed ‘Faith Garden,’ which will be a quiet place where I and the staff will be able to conduct small assemblies and collective worship when the weather becomes nicer. Already, the Headteacher has ordered various trees and flowers for the garden, and tulips in pink and purple, which were my late Wife’s favourite colours. The children all knew Susan, and I as Voluntary School Chaplain and Governor, and Susan as an Associate Governor to the School.

    I am literally ‘bowled over’ by the bench from TDP. The service that I received from ordering online, to the friendly service received when I rang TDP. The bench has far surpassed my expectations. It is such a quality product. It looks lovely and shiny with a matt sheen. It does look like varnished wood! I can’t wait until the Faith Garden is fully up and running, and we are conducting lessons and services there. The upper school remember Susan as a visitor to school, but all the children know of her passing, as they used her as an example to us going to Heaven when we die, since Susan died during Easter time, when we recall that Jesus died that we might be with him in Heaven. So, all the children know that’s where Susan is now.

    A quality, well made and beautiful Memorial Bench such as the Dale Bench that I purchased is going to be a most fitting tribute to my Susan in the Memorial garden. The delivery was great too, as the driver twice rang me to let me know that he was on his way, and delivered the bench to where I wanted it to be.

    When the memorial garden is up and running, I will send you some photos of what the bench looks like. It’s going to be lovely. You have made my day!

    Bench looks really good guys, thanks very much. It is in memory of one of the guys who sadly passed away on test a few years ago. He owned a bright Orange ford focus ST so it seemed appropriate.

    When someone said “can’t we get an orange one” I knew exactly who could supply it.
