Bench in Memory of Local Man.
TDP were pleased to help when approached by the Wirksworth & Middleton Cricket club regarding the supply of two memorial benches for Matt Daldorph (Dali) a local man and member of the Wirksworth & Middleton Cricket Club who sadly lost his life at a very young age.
His friends and the cricket club wanted to place a recycled plastic bench at both the Wirksworth ground and Middleton ground in his honour.
The Dale bench was chosen as the most traditional design that would fit with the existing wooden benches.
Not only were the benches chosen for their maintenance free and long lasting properties, but the fact they were made in Dali’s home town, by one of his old school mates, was quite fitting.
In July there was a fund raising day held at Wirksworth Cricket Club, to raise funds for the Air Ambulance. The memorial bench on this site was unveiled as part of the day’s activities.
