Recycled Picnic Tables for The White Swan

Black reycled plastic Springbank picnic tables

The White Swan public house wanted to replace their wooden picnic tables outside as they had become rotten and were both an eyesore and a hazard.

Following a major refurbishment Stella Critchlow, the owner of the popular public house, now wanted to source suitable replacements for the outside tables and wanted traditional style picnic tables but ones that would last.

Being local to TDP, Stella had heard about our recycled range of outdoor furniture and asked if she could come over to view some of our products. Although we make to order we quite often have pieces in stock, or at least the raw material, so viewing the actual material is always possible. Stella came to our factory and chose the Springbank Picnic Table.

As the White Swan is a three story Georgian black and white beamed building Stella was delighted when we said we could make the tables in Black recycled plastic. The pub frontage sits directly onto the historic market place in the centre of Ashbourne and the tables, in black, would help to enhance the area.

Stella was pleased that the new picnic tables would not need regular maintenance or staining and would last for many years. Also being made from recycled plastic waste helped the environment and many customers have asked about the tables Stella has been pleased to be able to tell the recycling story behind the manufacturing process.

The three picnic tables have proved a great hit with customers and neighbouring traders. Stella also mentioned that even after it has rained it is so easy to just wipe the excess water off the surface of the seats and table top and they are ready for use, unlike wooden profiles where water will seep into the wood and needs to dry first before they can be used comfortably by customers.
