Green Growth in the East Midlands
Yesterday was an exciting day for us. The BBC visited our Wirksworth factory to film a feature for the East Midlands Chamber & University of Derby Green Growth Report, showcasing how small businesses are embracing sustainability. We were proud to be included and to show how TDP is leading the way in eco-friendly outdoor furniture made from recycled materials.
Recycled Plastic Furniture That Lasts
The Green Growth Report highlights that nearly half of small and medium sized enterprises in the East Midlands now generate revenue from sustainable products. This proves that more businesses are recognising the value of environmentally responsible practices. For TDP, it highlights that our commitment to recycled plastic furniture benefits both the environment and businesses.
Our benches, picnic tables, and outdoor furniture might look like traditional timber, but they’re made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. By repurposing plastic waste, we are keeping material out of landfill, reducing carbon emissions, and creating durable, low-maintenance furniture. Choosing sustainable furniture doesn’t mean compromising on quality, our products are built to last and ideal for homes, schools, hospitality venues, and public spaces.

Our Managing Director, Rob Barlow, told the BBC:
