New Bench for Millennium Garden

Dale bench in Middleton by Wirksworth Millenium Garden

A community group working on behalf of the residents of Middleton by Wirksworth were looking at alternative solutions for the existing 20 timber benches sited around the village that all needed replacing through the natural deterioration of the wood. The Middleton Environmental Group, as the name suggests wanted an environmentally sound alternative to timber, so what better solution than to source benches made from recycled plastic from a company that is only 3 miles away from the village. The first Dale bench was sited in the Millennium garden, which has the most amazing views across the valley. This garden was created through hard work and generating funds. The Dale bench was selected as being the most traditional in style, and looked similar to the wooden benches that were being replaced.  We are sure the residents and visitors to the Millennium garden will enjoy sitting on the Dale bench listening to the musicians playing in the bandstand whilst looking out across the Amber Valley.
