Our Production Process

We know the recycled plastic material we use is of the highest quality and in itself will last for many decades, but our job is to make sure the design and manufacture does justice to the material. From how it looks and performs to the last nut, bolt and screw, our skilled team make every product as though we are going to take it home to use ourselves.

We want to be part of the solution, not the problem.

All our production equipment is state of the art, from our industry leading CNC machine, ensuring great accuracy in our component manufacture, to the hand tools we use to assemble the furniture. But the most important element are the team that take great pride when making each piece of furniture.

Many of our customers come back year after year to order more and it is rewarding to hear their stories of furniture they purchased from us years ago that they tell us ‘after a quick wipe down’ are still as good as new.

Quality products that last decades. With the paperwork to prove it.

We are proud to have achieved accreditation with the international quality standard ISO9001 every year since 2004, which is quite rare for a small company.

This ensures the quality and consistency of our production system, which means that you, as a customer benefit from high quality products that will last you a life time. And should there be any issues with the materials we use for your furniture, you’re backed up with a 20 year material warranty.

It’s all in the material.

Our recycled plastic furniture is made from recycled plastic waste, generated entirely from the United Kingdom. Whilst it would be cheaper for us to obtain our materials from abroad (as some of our competitors do…), it wouldn’t align with our sustainability objectives both at home and abroad.

The lengths of plastic profile are made from lots of bits mixed plastic waste, which you can see from the different coloured flecks in the photos. It is a natural formation during the moulding process that some plastics melt at higher temperatures, and these can be seen as coloured flecks. Sometimes the coloured flecks of plastic are visible on the surface, but mostly they are hidden inside the profiles.

The moulding process can cause air pockets to form in the centre of the profile and are not visible until we cut the profile to make sections for the furniture. Importantly these are not detrimental to the structure of the furniture. This can be viewed as evidence of using a plastic waste material and helps to tell the story of your furniture and are natural features of using recycled plastic.

Products built for all weather. Even British.

When designing a new product, we sometimes take up to 2 years to test it before we add it to the range, making sure it is fit for purpose and withstands all the elements the UK weather can throw at it.
